Time to start building the Thumb area:


Do so by selecting the face shown in the picture, transform it a little bit outwards
and rotate it so it points in some thumblike direction.

Start extruding the thumb



As with the fingers, make a total of three extrusions.
Transform and scale your extrusions so it looks like something on the images here.

To finalise our basemesh we will extrude the four faces at the back, to form the hand going over to the wrist.



Continue pulling points to form the basic features of the hand.
The base mesh is ready, time to go SubD.
