Ant

Modeled in Rhino, final images in Maya.

Final renderings

The final images done in Maya, be sure to check them out.
I rendered the whole image in different layers, a very smart
way of compositing a high-end image.

The rendering consists of a background layer with the Key and fillights together with the shadows from the ant.
A diffuse layer with the main object rendered without speculars and background.
A specular layer with all lights turned off, no diffuse shading and only the reflections visible.

This creature was modeled entirely in Rhino3d for testing the capabilities in Rhino. Textures and bump maps are done separately for each part in Photoshop.
This model will be a part of the bundle from 3DRender.com 'The secret of Rhinoceros' and the Cool NURBS cd-rom.
It was modeled in 2 nights, effectively i could say 6 hours.
The model could be downloaded on request.

This picture shows the ant rendered in Rhino with textures applied.
Here is aWireframe OGL screenshot from Rhino of the body to show the Parameterization.
Here i'm in work with the IK setup in Maya. I will post animations of this goodie when she is finnished. Worth mentioning also: Jeepen from Digital Illusions do like my model and is also animating her in SoftImage, so i guess it will be something here soon.
